Cranberry Sauce Recipe

12 ounces (about 3 cups) fresh or frozen cranberries 1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup water Optional: Orange zest or juice, cinnamon, cloves, or other spices for flavor (to taste)

Ingredients

Rinse the cranberries under cold water and remove any stems or debris.

In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, and water.

If desired, add any optional flavorings such as orange zest or juice, cinnamon, or cloves.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.

Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and to help break down the cranberries. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature.

If you prefer a smoother sauce, you can blend it in a blender or food processor until you reach your desired consistency.

Transfer the cranberry sauce to a serving dish or storage container. Refrigerate until ready to serve. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.
