6 thick slices bread Cut from a stale Brioche, Sourdough ▢3 eggs ▢3 cups milk ▢1 teaspoon vanilla extract ▢¼ cup sugar ▢1 tablespoon cinnamon ▢4 tablespoons butter divided
To achieve the finest results, allow the bread to sit out for the day before.
Remove the crust from the bread and cut it into three lengthwise, thick sections. Whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla in a shallow dish.
Combine sugar and cinnamon, then place the mixture in a shallow dish. Aside; set aside. Soak the skewers until saturated in the egg mixture.
While the bread pieces are melting 2 tablespoons of butter over LOW-MEDIUM heat, sauté them until golden brown on each side.
Coat all sides of the item with the cinnamon and sugar mixture using utensils. While continuing to cook the bread, add additional butter as necessary.
Compound with heated syrup.
