Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each cookie.
Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. The centers may still appear soft, but they will continue to set as they cool.
