This 8-ingredient Crispy Stir-Fried Beef Is a One-Pan Wonder

– 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced – 2 tbsp soy sauce – 2 tbsp cornstarch – 3 tbsp vegetable oil – 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced – 3 cloves garlic, minced – 2 green onions, chopped – 2 tbsp hoisin sauce

Ingredients

Prepare the Beef: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes. This step helps tenderize the beef and create a crispy texture when cooked.

Heat the Pan: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and swirl to coat the pan. Make sure the oil is hot before adding the beef to ensure it gets crispy.

Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the hot pan in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the beef is crispy and browned. Avoid overcrowding the pan; you may need to cook the beef in batches. Once cooked, remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the thinly sliced bell pepper and minced garlic. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp and the garlic is fragrant.

Combine Beef and Vegetables: Return the crispy beef to the pan with the vegetables. Add the chopped green onions and stir everything together. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to combine the flavors.

Add the Sauce: Pour the hoisin sauce over the beef and vegetable mixture. Stir well to coat everything evenly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened.
