Do you really think the Vikings should trade Justin Jefferson? After what Minnesota's general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Ind., it looks like it.
"That has never crossed my mind," he said when asked if he had thought about moving Jefferson, the 24-year-old hall of fame receiver who has set a lot of records in his four years in the NFL.
Asafo-Mensah said that the Vikings and Jefferson were "incredibly close" to signing a deal during the summer, but talks were put on hold until the 2023 season.
"We think he's the best wide receiver in the league and should be paid accordingly. We've said this before and will say it again."
For that reason, we believe he should be paid as one of the best non-quarterbacks in the league.
This means we will keep having those talks and discussions, Adofo-Mensah said.
Everyone was told by Adofo-Mensah to be skeptical of what they read, but he wouldn't say what kinds of false stories he's heard.
"I've promised Jefferson's camp that I won't talk about our talks, and I will keep that promise."
"I believe this job should be done honestly, so a lot of what I hear isn't true. But I can't stand here and tell you what is and isn't true because that's not how I promised to do this job," he said.
